FAQ
Everything people ask us — about the honey, and about ordering.
Why does my honey crystallise?
Because it is alive. Any unheated honey eventually crystallises, faster or slower depending on the flowers — it is a sign of quality, not a fault. To soften it, place the jar in warm water below 40 °C, stirring now and then. Never in the microwave: above 40 °C honey loses its qualities.
How does ordering work without online payment?
You fill in the order form — two minutes, no account, nothing to pay. We reply personally within 48 hours with availability and the exact total, shipping included. Payment happens then (bank transfer, cheque, or cash on pickup), and you remain free not to go ahead.
What is “wildflower” honey?
Honey made from whatever the bees actually forage around the hives, rather than a single targeted flower: fruit trees and hawthorn in spring; lime tree, bramble and clover in summer. Every harvest has its own colour and taste. We never blend two harvests in one jar.
How long does honey keep?
A very long time: the best-before date printed on each jar is two years, but honey stored away from heat and humidity, lid closed, keeps well beyond that. Crystallised honey is not expired honey.
Can babies eat honey?
No. Like all honeys, ours is not suitable for children under 12 months (risk of infant botulism). This is a general public-health rule, whatever the quality of the honey.
Where do I collect my order?
Your choice: free pickup in Corné (Loire-Authion, 20 minutes from Angers) at a time agreed by e-mail, with payment possible on collection — or Colissimo delivery within mainland France, shipped after payment. Details on the shipping page.
